A perfect spot for bird watching

Lake Biwa is an important wintering areas for waterfowl, with over 50,000 birds arriving each year, and has been designated a wetland of international importance*. 

There is a cozy bird watching facility in Imazu, northwest side of the lake, with birding scopes and professional guides.
